Michel PINET

Architect - Designer

Michel PINET has carried on his activity for more than 25 years. He initially started to work for the Monuments historiques and particularly in the royal castle of Versailles. He began his career with an internationally renowned decorator for whom he worked during 6 years, perfecting his skills and knowledge in all aspects of the Decorative Arts.

He is considered as one of the top specialists in the fields of antique wallpapers and fabrics and has the ability to have rare fragments rewoven or reprinted that otherwise would not be available commercially. He is also one of the very few recognized specialists of antique mouldings : thanks to his large stock of archival documents and to his numerous sketches of mouldings’ profiles taken onsite directly from buildings upon which he worked, he can reproduce perfectly proportioned and historically accurate period boiseries, mouldings and decorations. In addition, perfect connoisseur of the classical french gardens, he designed some “jardins à la française” for houses and castle he was commissioned to restore.

Thanks to his passion for decorative arts and his extensive knowledge of the different periods and styles of french art, particularly those of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, he can create athmospheres with authentic details carefully adapted to modern living and to the needs of each individual client.
